About the Project

Join a team building and enhancing enterprise search solutions for one of the largest retail organizations in North America. You'll work on a high-scale platform that powers fast, relevant, and personalized search experiences across millions of products.

As a Senior Search Engineer, you'll help design, implement, and optimize search capabilities using modern cloud technologies, collaborating closely with product owners and engineering teams to deliver highly relevant search results and scalable search infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement search functionality using Apache Solr and Lucidworks Fusion.
• Build and maintain integrations between search platforms and multiple data sources.
• Develop backend services in Java and Spring Boot.
• Optimize search relevance, indexing strategies, and query performance.
• Build and enhance REST APIs supporting search services.
• Work with GCP-based infrastructure and distributed data processing.
• Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to deliver personalized search experiences.
• Contribute to technical design and best engineering practices within the team.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong commercial experience with Java
• Experience with Apache Solr
• Hands-on experience with Lucidworks Fusion
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot
• Experience building REST APIs
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Strong understanding of search technologies, indexing, and search relevance optimization
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2+)

Note: Working hours should provide overlap with the US Central Time zone (approximately until 12:00 PM CST).
