CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an IT App Developer IV.
Type: Contract
Job Title: IT App Developer IV
Location: Remote – must work East Coast hours/time zone
Pay Rate: $81.80-$84.00/hour
Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Description
We are seeking an experienced IT App Developer IV / Search Engineer / Tech Lead to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise search and conversational AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Lucidworks Fusion, enterprise search, relevance optimization, RAG, and generative AI.
Strong preference for Lucidworks Fusion experience over any other search platform.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize enterprise search solutions using Lucidworks Fusion or comparable platforms.
Develop lexical, semantic, vector, and hybrid search capabilities, including relevance tuning, boosting, filtering, facets, and synonyms.
Build single- and multi-turn conversational search and RAG experiences with intent recognition, query rewriting, session context, grounding, citations, and fallback behavior.
Integrate enterprise LLM/AI services and REST APIs with appropriate security, performance, and cost controls.
Develop search relevance benchmarks, automated regression testing, and quality metrics.
Troubleshoot search pipelines, APIs, Solr, Kubernetes/AWS, model endpoints, and application integrations.
Partner with AEM, front-end, product, AI, cloud, security, and architecture teams.
Implement Git, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and configuration-as-code practices.
Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in search engineering, information retrieval, or enterprise application development.
Strong hands-on Lucidworks Fusion experience preferred.
Experience with enterprise search platforms such as Solr/Lucene, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Algolia, Vespa, or Azure AI Search.
Experience with semantic/vector search, embeddings, hybrid ranking, relevance optimization, RAG, grounding, prompt design, citations, and AI guardrails.
Experience with AWS and Kubernetes in production environments.
Proficiency in Java and/or Python, JSON, REST APIs, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
Strong understanding of search schemas, analyzers, tokenization, synonyms, faceting, boosting, filtering, relevance scoring, connectors, and query debugging.
Strong communication, problem-solving, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Lucidworks Fusion 5.x implementation, upgrade, or administration experience.
Experience with Fusion AI, RAY, Learning-to-Rank, Relevance Workbench, Analytics Studio, Commerce Studio, or A/B testing.
Experience integrating AEM, commerce platforms, product catalogs, digital assets, or document services.
Experience with session stores such as Redis, multilingual search, SKU/part-number search, permissions-aware retrieval, or structured/unstructured content.
Knowledge of secure and responsible AI development, privacy, accessibility, and production monitoring.
Relevant search, cloud, or AI certifications.
