Team Summary:
The Enablement team is a focused group of generalist SRE engineers who act as internal SRE consultants to PointClickCare's development teams — helping them get their products into production reliably, securely, and quickly. We don't own services or platforms; we make the teams who do more autonomous — building alongside them, then leaving behind the patterns, automation, and knowledge they need to run what they ship. You will spend a significant portion of your time hands-on — designing infrastructure, building pipelines and automation, hardening services for production, and contributing self-service capabilities to our Operations platforms across cloud environments like Azure. The team collaborates closely with product engineering, platform, SRE, and security teams across the technology organization.
Job Summary:
Enablement exists to make PointClickCare's development teams autonomous in production — so that shipping a new service doesn't depend on a queue of operational requests. We solve the complex, cross-cutting infrastructure problems that don't yet fit an existing pattern or self-service platform — the 20% that standard paths can't handle — through sound SRE practices, well-designed automation, and a security-first mindset. Then we turn those solutions into reusable patterns and platform capabilities, so the next team can serve itself. Success is measured not by what we own, but by how many teams can deliver and operate confidently without us.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with development teams to take new and changing services into production — designing the infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security controls each service needs, and building alongside the team so they own the result
- Identify recurring developer requests and operational toil and eliminate them at the source — contributing self-service capabilities, reusable infrastructure-as-code modules, and automation to our Operations platforms
- Turn one-off solutions into documented, repeatable patterns; lead production readiness reviews covering SLOs, alerting, security, and recoverability — pushing back with evidence when designs introduce operational risk
- Transfer ownership cleanly — leaving every engagement with runbooks, documentation, and hands-on knowledge so development teams can operate, troubleshoot, and evolve what was built without depending on Enablement
- Mentor engineers, influence design reviews, and champion SRE practices — SLOs, blameless postmortems, infrastructure as code, and secure-by-default design — across engineering teams through influence rather than authority
Qualification and Skills:
Minimum:
- 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles supporting production cloud environments and mission-critical applications across multiple teams or services
- Strong proficiency with observability — metrics, logging, distributed tracing, SLI/SLO frameworks — and production operations including incident response and blameless postmortems
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps practices, and CI/CD for both application and infrastructure delivery
- Strong proficiency with cloud platform administration — compute, networking, storage, and identity — with deep, hands-on production experience in Azure or AWS, including containerized workloads (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Working proficiency with platform security — network segmentation, secrets management, encryption at rest and in transit, and least-privilege access
- Strong programming skills for automation, self-service tooling, and infrastructure management, with a proven track record of measurably reducing operational toil (e.g., ticket volume, manual requests, hours reclaimed)
- Strong communication and documentation skills — able to write runbooks, teach and pair with engineers, influence teams you don't manage, and translate technical complexity for diverse audiences
Preferred:
- Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, or golden-path templates
- Consulting, professional services, or embedded-SRE experience — internal or external — partnering with teams to deliver outcomes they will own
- Experience with disaster recovery planning, progressive delivery patterns (blue/green, canary), and capacity or cost optimization (FinOps)
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries with data privacy requirements
