In this role, you aren’t just building features; you are owning a system’s entire lifecycle, from the first architectural sketch to production reliability and long-term maintenance. Why This Role is Different High Autonomy, High Impact: You will work in a small, elite "Pod" (6–10 people) alongside Data Scientists, UX Designers, and Product Owners. True End-to-End Ownership: You own the "Build-Deploy-Run-Maintain" cycle. You have the keys to the infrastructure, the CI/CD pipelines, and the production environment. Technical Excellence: We don't cut corners. We value Clean/Hexagonal Architecture, Trunk-based development, and a "quality-in" mindset. The Profile: Who You Are A Systems Thinker: You are a senior engineer who views software as a living entity. You take pride in building systems that are not only functional but observable, reliable, and easy to maintain. You enjoy solving problems across the entire stack. Whether it’s a frontend bug, a backend API bottleneck, or an AWS configuration issue, you see it through to completion. Strategic Judgment: You thrive in regulated environments where your engineering decisions have real-world consequences. You are comfortable with ambiguity and have the judgment to build for the long term. The Technical Mentor: You lead by example, pushing back on "heroics" or technical debt in favor of sustainable, high-performing code. Fluent in English and French​ Your Technical Toolkit The Modern Stack: Deep competence in React and TypeScript on the frontend, paired with robust backend experience in Microservices and API design. Cloud Native Mastery: Extensive, production-hardened experience with AWS. You don't just use the cloud; you understand it. Infrastructure as Code: You believe in a programmable world and use Terraform to manage infrastructure with precision. Architecture & Reliability: You have implemented Clean or Hexagonal Architecture in real systems. You prioritize observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) as a core part of your workflow. Delivery Excellence: You are a champion of Trunk-based development and own your CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent). How We Work Collaboration-First: We use Gherkin/BDD to define behavior before we build. We value clear English communication and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-engineers. Elite Performance: We follow DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, etc.) to ensure our velocity is matched by our stability. AI-Empowered: We embrace AI-assisted development tools (like Cursor) to augment our productivity, while remaining fully accountable for every line of code we ship. Pragmatically Agile: We value TDD and XP practices, but we are pragmatic about when and why to apply them to keep the system healthy. Please note that it is estimated that senior-level (7 years+ post-graduate commercial experience) candidates will be most likely to succeed in this role. Also, only candidates with current permission to work in France unrestricted will be eligible.
