Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Job Description This Senior Software Engineer role focuses on building highly scalable, reliable backend systems while contributing across the full stack with a stronger emphasis on front-end development. You will enforce best coding practices, drive continuous improvement, and develop tools and templates that enhance engineering processes. A key objective is to scale the platform to handle up to 1,000 times the current load while maintaining exceptional uptime and performance. Responsibilities Enforce best coding practices and champion clean code, clean architecture, and SOLID principles across the engineering team. Advocate for and implement continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and workflows. Develop tools, templates, and frameworks that streamline processes and improve engineering efficiency. Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices that support an API-first architecture. Scale the platform to handle up to 1,000 times the current load while maintaining near-100% uptime and high performance. Apply full software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Implement and maintain robust automated testing strategies, including TDD/BDD and other testing approaches, to ensure high-quality code. Design and implement cloud-based architectures using modern cloud development patterns and best practices. Build and maintain automated release pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery. Develop and maintain APIs, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance in loosely coupled, domain-driven systems. Contribute as a full stack developer with a strong focus on front-end development, collaborating closely with front-end teams to deliver seamless user experiences. Work with modern technologies such as GoLang, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, GraphQL, gRPC, microservices, and NoSQL databases where applicable. Manage and plan technical debt, making thoughtful trade-offs and ensuring long-term maintainability of the codebase. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a supportive, idea-sharing culture to deliver impactful features and improvements. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to uphold high engineering standards. Essential Skills At least 7 years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience. Mastery of SDLC, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD, and clean code/clean architecture practices. 5–8+ years of experience with modern technologies such as GoLang, GraphQL, gRPC, JavaScript, microservices, and NoSQL. 5–8+ years of applying cloud development patterns and best practices in production environments. At least 5 years of proficiency in cloud-based architecture and automated release pipelines. 5–8+ years of experience working with an API-first approach, loosely coupled systems, and domain-driven design. At least 5 years of full stack development experience with a stronger focus on front-end development. Demonstrated ability to manage and plan technical debt in complex systems. Strong focus on writing high-quality code and applying various testing approaches, including TDD/BDD. Expert-level experience with microservices (rated 10/10). Expert-level experience with APIs (rated 10/10). Back-end focused engineering experience with the ability to collaborate effectively on front-end features. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with GoLang is highly valued; if GoLang is not present, strong Java experience is required. JavaScript experience is highly valued; if JavaScript is not present, strong GoLang experience is required. Experience with TypeScript and Python is beneficial for full stack and tooling work. Familiarity with GraphQL and gRPC for building modern, efficient APIs. Experience working with NoSQL databases in a microservices environment. Experience in environments that emphasize continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated pipelines. Work Environment This role is based primarily in an office setting with a hybrid schedule. You will work on-site 4 days per week and remotely 1 day per week. The specific work-from-home day is flexible and can be chosen in coordination with the team, project needs, and office coverage. At this time, the on-site requirement is not flexible, but employees have the autonomy to select their preferred remote day. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Scottsdale, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $165000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
