Senior Software Engineer
CAD ROOMSSenior Software Engineer (Desktop Application) [REMOTE]
Rust/Tauri Desktop & Full Stack
THE ROLE
CADROOMS is a browser-based CAD collaboration and product data management platform for enterprise teams in automotive, aerospace, rail, and marine. We are a small remote team headquartered in Denmark.
You will take end-to-end ownership of our Rust/Tauri 2 desktop client and its supporting backend, database, and TypeScript work. This is a full-stack ownership role with a desktop core: Rust/Tauri 2 comes first, backed by strong Postgres and practical TypeScript/React ability.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Rust/Tauri desktop core. Own file watching and CloudFS sync, Windows integration, IPC/local state, packaging, signing, releases, and automatic updates.
- Backend and data. Own Postgres schemas, migrations, SQL, row-level security, real-time communication.
- TypeScript product layer. Deliver the React/TypeScript work needed for desktop and backend. features; UI direction and the specialist 3D viewer sit elsewhere in the team.
- Delivery and reliability. Maintain CI/CD, Playwright tests, Vercel and Cloudflare deploys, Sentry monitoring, and incident response.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven Rust/Tauri desktop engineering. You have shipped and maintained an end-user application
- with substantial Rust and OS integration - not only a web wrapper, library, CLI, or embedded system.
- Strong Postgres ownership. You can design schemas and migrations, diagnose SQL, apply row level security, and improve performance.
- Practical TypeScript/React ability. You can implement and debug features across the WebView, Tauri commands, and backend using modern TypeScript frameworks.
- Production ownership. You can maintain pipelines and releases, monitor deployments, and help resolve incidents.
- Senior independent judgment. You bring 6+ years of professional experience and have owned a product area end-to-end in a small team.
HOW WE WORK
High trust, high accountability. Own outcomes, make progress visible, communicate risks early, finish
what you commit to, validate production results, and ask for help before a blocker becomes a delay. You will have autonomy, with clear responsibility.
NICE TO HAVE
CAD or manufacturing software; file-sync or local-first WebAssembly; Deno, Stripe or
Cloudflare; or taking over a critical codebase.
PRACTICALITIES
Remote, with substantial CET overlap.
