Contract Software Engineer (C# .NET)

Luton (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

12-month contract

Up to £76 p/h Inside IR35

We’re looking for an experienced security cleared C# .NET Software Engineer who thrive in fast-paced, high-impact environments and can deliver with minimal supervision. You’ll be joining a cutting-edge team within an Integrated Mission Solutions division, contributing to advanced Electronic Warfare programmes. This is a chance to work on state-of-the-art defence technology within a well-established and mature development environment.

Key skills

• Strong commercial experience in C# .NET development, including web-based applications
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and modern software development methodologies
• Proven experience across the full software lifecycle, including automated testing frameworks
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and practices
• Ability to work independently and deliver high quality solutions with minimal oversight
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and microservices architecture
• Background in defence or Electronic Warfare domains
• Experience with WPF, WinForms, and Visual Studio
• Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and Azure DevOps

Key responsibilities

• Developing robust, scalable applications using C# .NET in a Windows environment
• Owning complex tasks across the full software lifecycle from requirements and design through to integration, testing, and delivery
• Applying object-oriented design principles and best practices in verification and validation
• Collaborating with a highly skilled team while maintaining autonomy in your work
