Senior Software Engineer

The client develops technology that helps hospitals make better use of critical resources such as operating rooms, clinical staff, inpatient capacity, and scheduling availability. Its solutions are used across a large number of healthcare organizations and are designed to reduce operational friction, improve patient flow, and make complex hospital processes more efficient.

You will work on an intelligent surgical scheduling and coordination platform that helps healthcare organizations manage surgical cases from planning through execution. The product is designed to improve operating room utilization, reduce scheduling inefficiencies, and minimize lost surgical opportunities.

Surgical coordination can be particularly complex because surgeons often work across multiple healthcare organizations, while each case may involve numerous workflows, documents, dependencies, and stakeholders. The platform helps simplify this process by supporting areas such as surgical case management, surgery scheduling, workflow management, patient document tracking, and coordination between surgeons and healthcare organizations.

As a Senior Software Engineer, your work will be predominantly focused on the frontend using React and TypeScript, but you will own features across the application stack. When implementing new functionality, you will also be expected to develop and modify the corresponding backend functionality using C# and .NET.

This is therefore a strong fit for an engineer who is highly experienced with modern frontend development but is also comfortable taking end-to-end ownership of features, from the user interface through APIs and backend services.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain new product functionality across both frontend and backend.

• Build modern, maintainable user interfaces using React, TypeScript, Next.js, HTML, and CSS.

• Develop and extend backend functionality using C# and .NET.

• Take ownership of features end-to-end, including frontend implementation, API integration, backend changes, testing, and production support.

• Work with REST APIs and contribute to the design and implementation of application integrations.

• Investigate and resolve bugs across the application stack.

• Maintain and improve existing functionality in a mature production platform.

• Write automated tests and contribute to end-to-end testing using tools such as Playwright.

• Work with MongoDB and services within a microservice-based architecture.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, sprint planning, and Scrum ceremonies.

• Follow established engineering practices, architectural patterns, coding standards, and development processes.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and client-side team members.

• Support the platform as new workflows, features, and operational requirements are introduced.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with React in production applications.

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Professional experience with C# and .NET

• Ability to develop features across both frontend and backend.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and frontend/backend integration.

• Experience working with complex, production-grade web applications.

• Good understanding of software architecture, clean code, maintainability, and testing practices.

• Experience with automated testing and tools such as Playwright or similar frameworks.

• Experience working within established engineering standards and existing codebases.

• Ability to independently investigate problems and drive solutions through to completion.
