Senior C++ Software Engineer – Systems & Networking
Gothenburg | Hybrid
We're working with an established technology company building a small, highly experienced engineering team working on a global product.
This is a hands-on C++ role for an engineer who enjoys systems, performance and technically challenging problems.
You'll work close to the underlying technology, building and improving production software across areas including networking, performance and reliability.
The role
- Design, develop and ship production C++ software
- Work with Linux and systems-level software
- Solve challenging problems around networking, performance and reliability
- Profile, debug and optimise C++ applications
- Contribute to architecture and technical decisions
- Take ownership of problems from investigation through to production
- Work closely with a small team of experienced engineers
We're looking for
- Strong professional C++ experience
- Solid software engineering fundamentals
- Experience building and shipping production software
- Comfortable working with Linux
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- An interest in systems, networking or performance-focused software
- Someone comfortable taking technical ownership and working independently
You don't need experience with everything below - depth in one or more areas is interesting:
Networking: protocols, network programming, packet processing, tunnelling
Systems: Linux internals, kernel/system programming, eBPF/BPF, DPDK, embedded Linux
Performance: profiling, optimisation, concurrency, high-performance systems
Languages: C++, Rust, Go
