Senior Software Engineer

You’ll develop software for advanced high-tech applications in domains such as semiconductors, medical technology, and smart industry. We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with strong C++ and Python development skills who can independently design and build reliable software components and contribute to the technical direction of a project.

This is a hands-on software development role. Strong programming skills and experience building software are essential.

What will you do?

You’ll take ownership of software components throughout their development lifecycle: from understanding requirements and exploring design options to implementation, testing, and verification. Working closely with other software and hardware engineers, you’ll translate complex technical challenges into robust, maintainable software.

Your responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, test, and verify software components, modules, and subsystems using C++ and Python, and C where applicable.
• Write, debug, and maintain production-quality code for embedded systems and other high-tech applications.
• Translate technical requirements into well-designed software solutions, making independent technical decisions along the way.
• Apply object-oriented design, software architecture principles, unit testing, and clean coding practices.
• Analyse complex technical problems and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Take responsibility for the quality, reliability, and maintainability of your software.
• Review code, share technical knowledge, and support the development of less experienced engineers.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and other engineering specialists in an international, multidisciplinary team.

• An all-in employment package between €57.000 and €76.000 (including net expense allowance, mobility package, 13th-month salary and holiday allowance). Final salary is based on relevant work experience and level of expertise

What do you bring?

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience, preferably in a high-tech or embedded environment.
• Strong practical experience with both C++ and Python, including writing and maintaining software rather than working primarily with configuration, integration, or testing tools.
• Experience designing and implementing software components in complex technical systems.
• A solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, unit testing, and maintainable code.
• The ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of your work.
• A proactive, analytical mindset and a genuine interest in solving challenging engineering problems.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English. Dutch is an advantage.
