Senior Software Engineer (AI-Assisted), Czechia based

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on development experience and an end-to-end ownership mindset.

The role is focused on solving real business and technical problems across the full software delivery lifecycle — from understanding requirements and designing a solution to implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

A key part of the role is the practical use of GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, understand existing codebases, improve testing, support troubleshooting, and increase delivery efficiency. All AI-generated outputs must be critically reviewed, validated, and tested before reaching production.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technical problems from initial requirements through production delivery.
• Design and develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and web applications.
• Work across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production environments when required.
• Quickly understand existing and legacy codebases and safely implement changes.
• Use GitHub Copilot / LLM-based engineering tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase analysis.
• Review and validate AI-generated code and identify incorrect, insecure, or inefficient solutions.
• Build reliable, maintainable, secure, and production-ready software.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, infrastructure, and data-related issues.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, testers, and operations.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in software engineering and production application development.
• Strong backend development experience with Java / Spring Boot / Kotlin OR Python / FastAPI.
• Experience with REST APIs, system integrations, and distributed applications.
• Practical experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to critically review, test, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on generated outputs without validation.
• Experience with Docker, cloud environments, CI/CD, and production deployments.
• Experience working with unfamiliar or legacy codebases.
• Good understanding of software architecture, security, testing, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with incomplete or ambiguous requirements.
• Strong English communication skills.
