About the Role
Join a customer-facing product engineering team building command-and-control and autonomy software for robotic and unmanned systems. You will develop cloud and edge services that connect sensors, autonomous platforms, and AI-enabled decision support for operational environments.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and optimize mission-critical software for autonomous systems.
Build backend services, real-time messaging, and integrations across sensors, effectors, and autonomous platforms.
Develop systems that process data from diverse sensors for real-time state estimation and threat detection.
Build AI- and LLM-enabled capabilities that support threat assessment and operational decision-making.
Engineer scalable, reliable, and fail-safe software for high-stakes environments.
Work with robotics, hardware, sensing, and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
What We're Looking For
At least 4 years of hands-on backend or service-layer software engineering experience.
Experience owning core backend services, such as microservices, APIs, or middleware, and building real-time data exchange between live external services.
Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Rust, Python, C++, or Java.
A degree in computer science or a related technical field, such as robotics or electrical engineering.
Experience in autonomy, robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, or factory automation, with work beyond algorithms, simulation, or ML research alone.
Recent individual-contributor engineering experience, ideally shipping software in a fast prototype-to-field environment.
Experience integrating LLM systems, AI agents, or related toolchains is beneficial.
US work authorization, no visa sponsorship available, and eligibility to obtain a security clearance are required.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $145,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Hybrid role based in California, United States.
