About the Role
PakEnergy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, enhance, and support critical ERP and accounting software applications serving the energy industry. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and requires deep expertise in Delphi, SQL Server, and enterprise application development.
The ideal candidate will analyze business requirements, design scalable solutions, and deliver high-quality, well-documented software that meets performance, reliability, and maintainability standards. Working closely with product, business, and engineering teams, you will contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor fellow engineers, promote development best practices, and help drive technical excellence across the organization. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a passion for building enterprise software solutions that power critical accounting and operational workflows within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software enhancements across PakEnergy's ERP and accounting software platform.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable application solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable, and thoroughly documented code following established development standards.
• Participate in application architecture, technical design discussions, and solution reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex development, testing, and production issues.
• Implement software changes with awareness of system-wide impacts, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across the engineering team.
• Utilize version control and development tools to manage source code and releases.
• Contribute to ongoing modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Delphi and SQL Server development experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture.
• Experience designing and developing enterprise-scale business applications.
• Experience building scalable, high-availability, and high-performance software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and client/server application architecture.
• Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and mentor developers.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing, documentation, and code quality practices.
• Self-motivated and collaborative with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects through completion.
Preferred
• Experience with FireDAC.
• Experience with DUnitX unit testing framework.
• Experience with GitHub and modern source control practices.
• Exposure to ERP, accounting, financial, or energy industry software solutions.
