Senior Software Engineer – Go (Golang) Enhancement Lead

Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Go (Golang) Enhancement Lead to lead a small engineering team responsible for enhancing, modernizing, and sustaining mission-critical applications supporting a Department of War (DoW) customer.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for an experienced Go developer who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving technical decisions, and delivering reliable software enhancements in a secure, mission-focused environment.

• Lead a small engineering team delivering new capabilities to production Go and React/TypeScript applications, from technical design through deployment.
• Own technical design, code review standards, and release readiness for the team's development backlog.
• Partner with Government product owners to shape requirements, establish priorities, and deliver enhancements aligned with mission needs.
• Ensure changes to live, mission-critical applications are delivered safely through automated testing, feature flags, and rehearsed rollback plans.
• Mentor engineers, promote software engineering best practices, and maintain high standards for code quality.
• Collaborate closely with sustainment, security, and platform teams to support reliable application delivery.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, including at least 3 years developing production services using Go (Golang).
• Strong experience with SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, and REST API design.
• Demonstrated experience leading a small engineering team through technical design, code reviews, and software releases in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments using Amazon ECS or Kubernetes.
• Experience working with AWS GovCloud.
• Experience delivering software in federal or other regulated environments with formal change control processes.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: Hybrid. Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required. Government-furnished equipment is used for all access to Government environments.
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, including a customer demonstration each sprint.
• Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
• Compensation: $170,000–$180,000 base salary, depending on experience.

This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start in October 2026.
