Why this job is important

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the growing engineering team behind LIFT ROI, Kantar’s AI-powered Marketing Mix Modelling platform. LIFT ROI helps some of the world’s leading brands understand what drives marketing performance, connect investment to business outcomes and make smarter decisions about where to invest next

Based in Copenhagen, you’ll join a collaborative engineering environment working primarily with Go (Golang) across our backend services, alongside technologies including Node.js and Python. You’ll work closely with engineering, product and data science colleagues to build and evolve a scalable platform, deliver new capabilities and contribute to our AI-enabled roadmap.

If you’re an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building high-quality software and working across technologies, we’d love to hear from you. Commercial Go experience is highly valued, but we’re also interested in strong backend engineers who are motivated and able to develop their Go expertise.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, build and maintain backend services in Go – with a focus on performance, security, scalability and clean, well-tested code.
  • Deliver new product features while actively tackling technical debt to keep the platform healthy and easy to evolve.
  • Design and evolve robust APIs and data models, ensuring reliable integration across the LIFT ROI platform.
  • Contribute to our AI-enabled roadmap, helping integrate LLM- and MCP-based tooling into the product.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product and data science through code reviews, technical discussions and architectural planning.

The ideal skills & experience

  • Strong backend experience building production services, ideally using Go (Golang). We’re also open to experienced backend engineers with transferable skills who are motivated to develop their Go expertise.
  • Solid experience designing and consuming APIs and working with databases (schema design, queries, performance).
  • Working knowledge of LLMs and MCPs (Model Context Protocol), and comfort using Python alongside Go.
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing new feature delivery with technical-debt reduction and code quality.
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
  • Frontend experience is a plus – nice to have, but not a must-have.

What’s in it for you

  • Hybrid working
  • Up to 5 weeks holiday per year, 2 days paid for volunteering and life event leave
  • Competitive salary and bonus (bonus dependent on role)
  • Company pension
  • Primary caregivers leave fully funded for a minimum of 16 weeks. Secondary caregivers leave fully funded for a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Healthcare cover
  • Meal subsidy

Please be aware, the majority of our roles are hybrid, working three days a week in our office.

We’re not able to offer visa sponsorship or help with relocation support for this role. Please make sure you’ve got the right to work in the country where this role is located before applying.
