Passionate about precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry?
Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.
About us
At Center Health, we help people with diabetes feel better every single day.
You might know us for Aria, our AI coach. Aria chats with patients about their glucose, meals and medications, and people who use it lower their blood sugar twice as well as they do with a human coach.
Behind Aria is something just as exciting: a remote patient monitoring (RPM) program that's growing fast with clinics all over the US. Clinics enroll their patients, and we connect to their glucose monitors. When someone starts drifting out of range, we let their care team know, instead of three months later at the next appointment. Patients get support between visits, clinicians get a clear view of who needs them most, and practices get a program that pays for itself. Every new clinic means hundreds to thousands more people getting better care, and you'll see that impact week by week.
We're now part of Tempus, one of the biggest precision medicine platforms in healthcare. Tempus brings deep clinical history on millions of patients. We bring the live, day-to-day picture. Put together, that's a brand new way to care for chronic disease, and diabetes is only the beginning.
We're a small team, and every one of us has been touched by diabetes, either personally or through someone we love. We started Center to build the thing we wished existed.
The role
You'll be the engineer who keeps our RPM engine humming, and makes it better every week.
Every day, a lot of systems have to work together: patient outreach, device connections, data sync, claims documentation and more. When they all run smoothly, patients get care and clinics thrive. You'll own that machine: the integrations, the monitoring, and a fast, friendly response when something needs attention. And because you'll know the system better than anyone, you'll be the first to spot the growth ideas hiding inside it.
What you'll do
- Build and improve the automations behind outreach, data sync and reporting
- Bring your own ideas for growing RPM, and ship them
- Keep our RPM and EHR integrations healthy, with monitoring that tells us about problems before anyone else notices
- Work through our EHR integration pipeline: exports, re-exports, and the reports clinics rely on
- Be the quick, reassuring engineering response when clinics, patients and our support team need help
- Lead our EHR integrations as we take on larger clients
How we build
We build with AI every day, and we've put real care into doing it well. Our repo ships its own set of Claude Code agents that understand our security setup, our monitoring operations and our quality system. Every change moves through a clear loop: plan it, build it, test it, review it. If a change touches regulated code, the process catches it. The result is a small team that moves quickly, ships safely, and spends its energy on the interesting problems.
Our stack is TypeScript from top to bottom: Svelte on the front end, Node services behind it, MongoDB underneath, Capacitor for mobile, and LangChain with Vertex and OpenAI powering the AI. A lot of our operations run on n8n. Don't worry if some of that is new to you. A couple of us had never written Svelte before joining and were shipping within a day.
Some of what we build counts as a medical device, and we're a HIPAA business associate, so we take quality and privacy seriously. It adds a little process, and it also means you can be proud of everything that reaches a patient.
What we're looking for
- A solid track record of shipping and running production systems, usually 5+ years. We care more about what you've built, and how fast you're growing, than about the number.
- You've started something of your own, or been an early engineer somewhere. It's the best sign we know that someone will own a problem end to end.
- You love making things reliable. Good monitoring, clean integrations and a calm, methodical approach when something breaks.
- You're great with people. You explain technical issues clearly to clinicians and support staff, and you like being the one who gets them unstuck.
- You're AI-native. You build with AI tools every day and know how to check their work.
- Solid TypeScript, or the ability to pick it up fast.
- You've wrangled integrations. APIs, data pipelines, and messy third-party systems that don't always behave.
Bonus points: EHR or health data standards (HL7, FHIR), workflow automation tools like n8n, healthcare billing, or mobile experience.
Life at Center
We're headquartered in San Francisco with a remote engineering team spread across London, Liverpool and Cairo, and we're hiring on the US East Coast so you'll share working hours with the clinics and patients we serve. We're flexible, and we trust you to do your best work on a schedule that suits you. Questions are always welcome and always get a real answer. You'll have regular 1:1s with your manager, focused on where you want to grow. And when something goes wrong, we get curious about why, never about who.
Sound like you?
Thousands of times a day, someone opens Center to understand what their blood sugar is doing, and every month more clinics join us. If you want your work to show up in real people's health, we'd love to meet you.
NYC: $150,000-$210,000

About Us
Tempus was founded in August of 2015 by Eric Lefkofsky, after his wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Shortly after he founded the company in an effort to bring the power of technology and artificial intelligence to cancer care, he convinced Ryan Fukushima to join as the company’s first employee. Ryan and Eric began assembling a world class team, focused on building the first version of a platform capable of ingesting real time healthcare data in an effort to personalize diagnostics.
We built the platform for oncology and have expanded it to neuropsychiatry, cardiology, infectious disease (through COVID), and radiology. Despite our rapid growth, our mission remains the same—to help make sure patients are on the right drug at the right time, so they can live longer and healthier lives.
