(Senior) Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About us

ebiscon is a software development and IT consulting company with offices in Cologne and Athens. We analyse our customers' business processes and develop tailor-made digital solutions for them – web and mobile applications, cloud services on Microsoft Azure, e-commerce solutions with Shopware and Salesforce solutions.

Most of our customers are mid-size companies in Germany, from industries such as e-commerce, retail, laboratory supply and e-mobility. We support them from the first idea through development to ongoing operation, and often work with them for many years. In addition, we develop our own software platform for the e-mobility market.

Your role

You will mainly work for one of our key customers: a leading European group in laboratory supply and wholesale.

As a (Senior) Software Engineer, you take ownership of your topics: from understanding the requirement to a solution that runs reliably in production. You do not wait for someone to tell you what to do next – you drive your topics forward, make decisions within your area and stand behind the result. From time to time, you will also support our own e-mobility platform.

We work AI-first. Most of our code is no longer written by hand but generated with AI coding agents such as Claude Code – based on clear specifications and verified by you before it goes live. Your value lies less in typing code than in understanding the problem, steering the AI precisely and judging whether the result is correct, secure and maintainable.

Your responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for your topics – from the requirement to production and beyond
• Understand the business processes behind a requirement and raise questions or concerns early
• Turn requirements into clear specifications and implement them with AI coding agents
• Review AI-generated code thoroughly – security, authorization, data exposure, error handling – and only merge what you fully understand
• Design backend services, APIs and integrations with C# / .NET, e.g. between e-commerce, ERP and logistics systems
• Estimate and commit to your tasks in grooming and deliver them reliably – and speak up early if a commitment is at risk
• Present your results in the regular reviews with the project team and the customer
• Take part in code reviews and work according to our engineering standards (clean architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, secure development)
• Keep technical documentation up to date and support releases

Your profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development with C# / .NET (ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core)
• Experience in building and operating production systems
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) as your primary way of developing – and a clear sense of where not to trust them
• You take ownership: you have driven topics independently and are used to being accountable for the result
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or SQL Server) and REST APIs
• Experience with integrating third-party systems such as ERP, PIM or logistics systems
• Good understanding of automated testing, CI/CD and secure software development
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical people
• Structured, independent way of working and clear written communication
• Fluent English; German is a plus

• Experience with B2B e-commerce, wholesale or order management processes
• Shopware experience
• Experience in an IT services or agency environment
• Salesforce integrations

• Front-end experience with a modern framework
