About RudderStack

RudderStack helps companies build on top of their own data. Our warehouse-native Customer Data Platform enables engineering, data, and AI teams to collect, unify, govern, and activate customer data while maintaining full ownership and control. By running directly on top of the customer's cloud data warehouse or lakehouse, RudderStack reduces data movement, improves governance, lowers infrastructure costs, and accelerates modern data and AI initiatives.

Leading companies including Lovable, Jaguar Land Rover, and Foot Locker trust RudderStack to power mission-critical customer data infrastructure.

We're now in the middle of one of the most significant shifts in the company's history: evolving from the industry's leading warehouse-native CDP into a fully Agentic CDP built for the AI era — a platform that doesn't just collect and activate customer data, but reasons over it and takes action on our customers' behalf. EMEA is a critical part of that next chapter, and this hire will help define it.

About the role

Have you got a knack for explaining technical concepts? Do you want to work closely with big-name companies to solve some of their toughest problems, and stay with them long after the contract is signed? We're looking for a Senior Solutions Architect who loves teaching people, solving problems, and making sure our customers get real value from RudderStack. You'd be joining a team of talented engineers who love open source, support their community, and want to make people's lives easier. We care deeply about our users and partners, and we judge ourselves on how well we serve them.

You'll work alongside our Customer Success Managers as the technical lead on our EMEA accounts. The CSM owns the relationship and you own the technical side, and together you make sure every customer is successful with their RudderStack implementation. You'll be the technical face of RudderStack for these customers: the person they trust for answers, guidance, and honest advice. We get excited talking to engineers, product managers, and growth marketers, and we also know how to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders. We're here to make our customers' lives easier by giving them the right solutions for their customer data strategy and architecture.

This role is remote first and can be based anywhere in the UK or EMEA (). You'll occasionally travel to customer sites for relationship building, onboardings, and workshops. It won't happen often, but expect a few trips a year.

What you'll do

  • Partner with CSMs as the technical lead on a portfolio of EMEA accounts, owning their technical success from onboarding onwards.
  • Lead customer onboarding, making sure new customers are set up properly and see value quickly.
  • Design and manage migration strategies (for example from Segment, mParticle, GA4, or in-house pipelines) and other implementation plans, and guide customers through them.
  • Be the go-to person for customers' technical questions across the platform, from SDKs and event streaming to warehouses, reverse ETL, and identity resolution.
  • Run training sessions on different parts of the product, tailored to each customer's team and use case.
  • Take the initiative to spot gaps in how customers use the platform, then show them, and demo, how features they aren't using yet can solve their problems and add value.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers on their customer data strategy and architecture design.
  • Gather customer feedback and share it with our Product and Engineering teams, advocating for customer interests to help shape RudderStack's roadmap.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on the customer data landscape and RudderStack's role within it.
  • Occasionally run onsite sessions with customers for relationship building, onboardings, and workshops.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical incidents and work closely with Engineering and Support to drive resolutions for critical customer issues.

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager, or Implementation/Professional Services Consultant, with 8+ years of progressive professional experience supporting technical products.
  • You're proactive and self-driven. You don't wait to be told what to do. You find the next thing that will move a customer forward and you do it.
  • You have high emotional intelligence. You read the room, build trust quickly, and handle difficult conversations calmly and with empathy.
  • You're curious about how technology works under the hood, and you pick up technical concepts quickly.
  • You're a customer-focused problem solver who balances creative solutions with doing what's right for the customer.
  • You're a lifelong learner who enjoys taking in new information and sharing that knowledge with others.
  • You're organised, driven, and able to switch context quickly throughout the day across multiple accounts.
  • You have a strong understanding of how modern web services and mobile apps are built, and of the cloud infrastructure that powers them (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
  • You have professional experience in some of the following areas: web development, mobile development, device platforms and architectures, ETL concepts and workflows, high availability systems and business continuity, message queuing patterns and pipeline design.

Bonus Points:

  • You've led platform migrations or large-scale implementations for enterprise customers.
  • You've built websites or mobile apps, or you have experience working with ETL or data pipelines.
  • You've worked in marketing or advertising and understand the technical challenges of working with customer data.
  • You have some experience with data analytics, data science, AI, or machine learning.
