What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Procurement Governance & Compliance, you will lead the functional strategy, enablement, implementation and continuous improvement of Procurement technology. You will translate business needs into practical technology solutions, partner with Information Technology and business stakeholders, and help modernize Procurement through digitization, automation, and data-informed decision-making.

As a Senior Specialist, Procurement Technology, you will:

  • Own and maintain the Procurement Technology Roadmap, aligning priorities with Procurement strategy, operational needs, process maturity and transformation objectives.
  • Assess Procurement processes, systems and capabilities to identify opportunities for digitization, automation, integration and technology-enabled improvement.
  • Engage Procurement leaders and functional stakeholders to define business needs, priorities, requirements, business rules, controls and desired outcomes.
  • Serve as Procurement’s functional subject matter expert for designated systems, applications, workflows and technology tools.
  • Partner with IT Product Managers, delivery teams and solution providers to align Procurement priorities with enterprise roadmaps, architecture, cybersecurity, integration requirements and delivery dependencies.
  • Design, configure and maintain Procurement-level workflows, forms, templates, reference data and low-code automation within approved enterprise standards.
  • Lead Procurement’s participation in technology implementations and enhancements, including readiness, process validation, user acceptance testing, training, transition and stabilization.
  • Develop procedures, user guides, training materials, communications and implementation documentation, and provide functional support to users and stakeholders.
  • Develop reports, dashboards and performance measures related to technology utilization, process efficiency, data quality, user adoption and realized business benefits.
  • Analyze performance data and stakeholder feedback to recommend system, workflow, automation, training and process improvements to Procurement leadership.

This unionized position is classified at the Band 8 level, with an hourly wage rate of $53.06, based on a 37.5 hour work week. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete a test.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • Three to five years of progressive experience supporting enterprise business systems, procurement technology, procurement operations, digital transformation, business analysis, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements, workflows, business rules, functional specifications and use cases.
  • Experience supporting business applications, system configuration, workflow automation, user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, training and user adoption.
  • Experience developing or maintaining functional technology roadmaps, system enhancement priorities or technology-enabled process improvement plans.
  • Experience analyzing system and process data, developing reports or dashboards, and recommending operational improvements.
  • Experience collaborating with Information Technology teams, solution providers and cross-functional business stakeholders.
  • Experience with Procurement or Source-to-Pay processes and technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Knowledge and skills you bring, that set-you up for success:

  • Knowledge of Procurement processes and the Source-to-Contract lifecycle.
  • Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Knowledge of enterprise business systems and workflow automation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret business requirements and recommend practical technology solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships across Procurement, Information Technology, Finance, Legal, Internal Audit and other business functions.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism and a customer-focused approach when supporting users, vendors, consultants and implementation partners.
  • Ability to work independently, lead cross-functional initiatives without direct supervisory responsibility, and occasionally support implementations or deployments outside normal business hours.
