We require advanced hands-on development, technical design, and architecture. As a Senior Staff Engineer at Capital One Software Studio, you will orchestrate the creation of technology solutions that align with our business goals. Your day begins with a review of ongoing solution designs that are in different phases of their life cycles. You'll spend your time designing scalable and secure solution architectures, evaluating new technologies, and overseeing the development of high-level designs. You will engage in dynamic collaboration with cross-functional teams to advocate for best practices in architecture and design. For the new projects, you will closely work with your business partners to create sound business architectures. By day's end, you will have contributed to solutions and strategies that will shape our future, ensuring that all solutions are not only innovative but also follow our architectural and security standards. Your Responsibilities: Define and drive the technical strategy and vision for complex, multi-domain Android platform needs, providing hands-on engineering guidance to ensure successful execution. Work as part of a dynamic mobile team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. Elevate the technical bar by mentoring and coaching engineers and other senior technical leaders, in addition to providing mentorship to Junior, Intermediate, and Senior mobile associates. Basic Qualifications At least 8 years of hands-on development of Native Android applications using Java/Kotlin At least 8 years of experience with application design, technical architecture/design, and development Experience with RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins, Jetpack Compose Experience leading and mentoring Junior/Intermediate/Senior Associates and providing guidance to technical and business stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's, Master’s or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or in related fields. 10+ Years of experience leading the full life-cycle of Software Development Exposure to AWS or other cloud products Experience working in an agile environment and familiar with agile development methodologies Working at Capital One.
