Senior Strategic Advisor – Fundraising & Partnerships

This is a remote position.

ACF and its partner organisations under the ​Life and Liberty Project invite applications from interested candidates for the position of Senior Strategic Advisor – Fundraising & Partnerships on a contractual basis (1 year, renewable), to be based in Delhi.

The organisation is looking for a candidate who can lead and manage strategic fundraising and donor engagement initiatives that contribute towards long-term sustainability. The candidate will be responsible for driving donor cultivation and retention efforts across domestic and international channels, developing compelling communication for fundraising campaigns, and coordinating closely with leadership and program teams to align fundraising goals with organisational priorities.

The ideal candidate is proactive, strategic, and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and initiative. They should be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), deeply collaborative, and capable of managing multiple donor relationships and campaigns simultaneously. A strong understanding of the non-profit ecosystem and donor trends in the human rights and development sectors is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

• The candidate shall design and implement a comprehensive resource mobilisation strategy aligned with the organisation’s mission and vision.
  
• The candidate shall identify, research, and build a pipeline of potential individual, institutional, and corporate donors, both in India and internationally.
  
• The candidate shall prepare compelling proposals, donor reports, concept notes, and pitch presentations tailored to the interests of different donor segments.
  
• The candidate shall develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors through timely communication, donor engagement events, and regular updates.
  
• The candidate shall track fundraising metrics, donor communications, and deadlines using donor management tools or CRMs.
  
• The candidate shall work with internal teams to develop strategic cases for support, impact stories, and marketing content to strengthen donor engagement.
  
• The candidate shall coordinate high-level donor meetings, site visits, and follow-ups, and support senior leadership in donor interactions.
  
• The candidate shall lead or supervise donor reporting (narrative and financial) and ensure compliance with donor agreements and expectations.
  
• The candidate shall monitor fundraising trends and best practices to ensure strategy relevance and effectiveness.
  
• The candidate shall develop annual and quarterly outreach plans for both core team members and ad-hoc staff/volunteers to maximise reach and visibility of the organisation’s work.
  
• The candidate shall coordinate and deploy the team and ad-hoc staff for on-ground awareness and fundraising activities, including in-person campaigns, events, and field visits.
  
• The candidate shall identify, plan, and lead church speaking opportunities and community events across regions as part of outreach and fundraising efforts, ensuring effective messaging and follow-up engagement.
  

Admin and Other Responsibilities:

• Providing periodic updates to the Team Leader.
  
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to fundraising activities.
  
• Flexibility in terms of working hours, work-related travel, and undertaking any additional task assigned by the Team Leader is a requirement.
  
• Maintaining confidentiality of donor information and fundraising plans.
  

Requirements:

• The candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  

• The candidate shall have a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in fundraising, donor relations, partnership development, or resource mobilization, preferably within the non-profit, human rights, or development sectors.
  

• The candidate shall demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  
• The candidate shall be capable of crafting compelling donor communication, detailed reports, concept notes, and effective fundraising campaigns.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• The candidate shall preferably have prior experience working with organizations focused on human rights, religious freedom, or marginalized communities.
  
• The candidate shall have an understanding of philanthropic and donor trends, particularly within India and among international donors.
  
• The candidate shall preferably be fluent in Hindi or other Indian regional languages in addition to English.
  
• The candidate shall demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and donor/fundraising management platforms.
  
• The candidate shall be familiar with CRM tools such as Salesforce, Zoho CRM, or Little Green Light.
  
• The candidate shall have familiarity or exposure to legal frameworks relevant to the nonprofit sector, including FCRA, CSR, or other regulatory compliance areas.
