Job Summary:

The Senior Engineer is responsible for project execution of projects ranging in scope and scale. They understand the steps and process to design a system and provide clear and coherent calculations and drawings. They can provide modeling and drafting direction and understand what the final product should look like.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare structural calculations and construction documents that meet quality standards
    1. Design lateral and gravity systems in areas of technical proficiency
    2. Sketch and draw unique details
    3. Provide modeling and drafting direction
    4. QC own work
    5. Provide high level options for technical lead for areas that require direction
  2. Develop and Execute Sprint Plan Activities
    1. Create and communicate plan of approach to PM
    2. Understand and document tasks to complete deliverable and estimate hours
    3. Identify high value/impact items that are low risk to keep project moving quickly
    4. Commit and execute the plan, reconcile plan with project team as needed
    5. Communicate early and often when roadblocks to the plan are identified
  3. Manage CA Activities and report to Technical Lead
    1. Maintain and update CA Log
    2. Create response to RFI’s for Technical Lead Approval
    3. Review shop drawing and present to Technical Lead
    4. Elevate scope creep concerns
    5. Perform Site Visits
  4. Independently communicate and manage Client Coordination
    1. Communicate with client independently through client meetings, phone call and email exchanges
    2. Coordinate drawing development with technical staff
    3. Proactively spot issues with other consultants and offer solution in the meeting
    4. Consult early on the pro and cons to type of structure, system selection
    5. Communicate updates to project team
  5. Participate and execute Continuous Improvement Activities
    1. Seek out and participate in continuing education
    2. Participate in material groups; update and improve standards and best practices
    3. Growing proficiency in material, market and project types

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree Required
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license required
    • MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management (structural engineering preferred)
    • 5+ years of experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood frame structures

    Location: Remote (Prefer candidates who reside in the PST / MT / CST time zones)

    Travel: Yes 10-15%

    Salary Range: $99,750-115,500
