Here, your work moves people forward, and your growth is personal. Join us, and let’s build what’s next together.
In this position...
The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
Help protect Ford’s manufacturing operations by identifying and resolving supplier and supply chain risks before they disrupt production. This role goes beyond reporting and data management: you will independently assess situations, challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and drive action. Working with teams across purchasing, supplier technical assistance, materials planning and logistics, manufacturing plants, engineering, logistics, suppliers, and leadership, you will help ensure production continuity, effective containment, and sustainable recovery.
What you'll do...
Lead daily supply chain risk management, identifying, assessing, and escalate supplier and supply chain risks that could affect manufacturing operations.
Independently evaluate emerging situations, challenge assumptions, identify gaps in available information or response plans, and recommend a course of action.
- Drive risk resolution by coordinating containment, recovery, and escalation efforts with suppliers and internal teams.
- Partner with purchasing, supplier technical assistance, materials planning and logistics, manufacturing plants, engineering, logistics, and leadership to protect production continuity.
- Track material availability, potential shortages, and recovery actions using supply chain data and reporting tools; turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen risk prevention and response through analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools, and share insights with relevant stakeholders.
Use analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve early risk detection, decision-making, team development, and continuous improvement.
You'll have...
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, operations, business analytics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Years of Experience: 7 to 10 years in supply chain, manufacturing operations, logistics, production planning, or a related area.
- Experience assessing operational risks, coordinating responses to disruptions, and driving issues through to resolution.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including reconciling information from multiple sources and translating findings into clear priorities and actions.
- Knowledge of inventory management, capacity planning, logistics, and supplier operations.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Ability to distinguish symptoms from root causes, and temporary containment measures from permanent corrective actions.
- Ability to validate data quality, identify information gaps, and communicate uncertainty clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with incomplete information, question assumptions, and identify gaps.
- Experience collaborating across functions and with suppliers; leadership, project leadership, or cross-functional coordination experience is valuable.
- Experience using data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
- Comfort using or learning AI-enabled tools, automation, and prompt-based workflows to support analysis and decision-making.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to present risks, recommendations, and recovery plans to different audiences.
