Due to continued growth within our Retail Lease Advisory team, we are seeking an ambitious Senior Surveyor to join our market-leading London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an MRICS-qualified professional, or an individual working towards qualification, to advise some of the UK's most recognised retail occupiers, landlords and investors on lease events across a wide range of retail assets including high street, shopping centres, retail parks and mixed-use developments.

The Role

As a Surveyor / Senior Surveyor within the Retail Lease Advisory team, you will provide strategic property advice to landlord and occupier clients across the retail sector. Working closely with senior colleagues and wider Colliers service lines, you will support and lead negotiations relating to rent reviews, lease renewals, lease restructures and portfolio optimisation initiatives.

The role offers exposure to high-profile instructions, significant client interaction and opportunities to contribute to the continued growth of Colliers' Retail platform.

Key Responsibilities

Lease Advisory

  • Lead and support rent review and lease renewal negotiations.
  • Advise clients on lease restructuring opportunities.
  • Provide strategic advice on lease regears and portfolio optimisation.
  • Undertake detailed lease analysis and interpretation.
  • Deliver commercially focused recommendations aligned to client objectives.

Valuation & Market Analysis

  • Analyse retail market evidence and comparable transactions.
  • Assess rental values across a variety of retail asset classes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for clients.
  • Monitor market trends and provide insight into emerging retail dynamics.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlord and occupier clients.
  • Attend client meetings and present lease advisory strategies.
  • Support business development initiatives and pitch opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling within the wider Colliers business.

Collaboration

  • Work alongside Agency, Capital Markets, Valuation, Occupier Services and Asset Management teams.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practice initiatives.
  • Support junior team members where appropriate.

Essential

  • MRICS qualified or progressing towards APC qualification.
  • Experience within Lease Advisory, Valuation, Agency or Property Management.
  • Strong understanding of UK landlord and tenant legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong report writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple client instructions effectively.

Desirable

  • Previous exposure to retail assets.
  • Experience advising both occupiers and landlords.
  • Existing client relationships within the retail property sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development mindset.
