We are now looking for an experienced System IC Design Engineer to strengthen our system-level IC design capability.

This is a semiconductor system design role at the intersection of customer requirements, system architecture and IC implementation. You will help turn demanding product and performance requirements into feasible IC architectures, detailed specifications and clear design decisions for analog, RF, digital and mixed-signal teams.

Depending on your experience and demonstrated scope of responsibility, you may join us at either Senior or Principal level.

Your role

In this position, you will:

• Translate customer and product requirements into IC-level system requirements
• Develop system architectures and partition functionality between analog, RF, digital, software, and external components
• Define top-level and block-level specifications, interfaces, performance budgets, and design constraints
• Create and use behavioral and system-level models to evaluate architectural alternatives
• Analyze performance, power, area, cost, risk, and implementation feasibility
• Work closely with analog, RF, digital, verification, layout, test, and project management teams
• Support verification planning and ensure traceability from requirements to implementation and validation
• Participate in feasibility studies, project planning, technical reviews, and customer discussions
• Support IC integration, tape-out, laboratory characterization, and resolution of system-level issues

At Principal level, you will lead architectural work in major projects, provide technical direction across design disciplines, act as a senior technical interface towards customers, and develop reusable system design methods and practices.

What we are looking for

You have:

• A B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, electronics, communications engineering, or a related field
• Strong professional experience in IC, ASIC, SoC, or mixed-signal system design
• Experience translating product requirements into architectures and detailed technical specifications
• A broad understanding of analog, RF, digital, verification, and physical implementation considerations
• Experience with system modeling using Matlab, Simulink, Python, SystemVerilog or equivalent tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to make and communicate technical trade-offs
• Experience working in customer interface and taking ownership of complex technical topics
• Strong communication skills in English

Experience in wireless communications, radio architectures, signal processing, power management, automotive electronics, semiconductor IP development, or post-silicon validation is considered an advantage.

This is an IC and semiconductor system design role, not an IT systems position.

Compensation and application

For employment in Finland and Estonia, the monthly salary will be agreed based on the scope of the role, your competence, and your experience, in line with CoreHW’s career and pay framework.
