Show job description

NVIDIA is transforming mobility through accelerated computing, AI, and software-defined vehicle platforms. Our automotive technology enables leading manufacturers to develop and deploy safe, intelligent driving experiences at scale.

As a Senior System Software Integration Engineer on our ADAS Platform Integration team, you will play a key role in bringing NVIDIA’s automotive platform into production vehicles. You will operate at the intersection of embedded software, vehicle systems, validation infrastructure, and customer engineering. You will own complex integration topics from first reproduction through root-cause analysis, fix validation, and release readiness. Working directly with a leading automotive OEM, you will help align NVIDIA and customer engineering teams, resolve cross-stack issues, and ensure the platform performs reliably across simulation, lab, and in-vehicle environments.

We expect the selected candidate to be based in Munich or Stuttgart, with flexibility for occasional travel to customer sites as business needs require.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Integrate and optimize automotive system software, develop ADAS components and platform tooling, and deliver production-quality fixes across NVIDIA and partner codebases.

  • Maintain automation pipelines for build, test, and release while resolving infrastructure and pipeline blockers.

  • Triage and bisect regressions across staging release trains, SIL/HIL environments, vehicle test racks, and simulation platforms, resolving discrepancies between NVIDIA and OEM test results.

  • Debug platform, OS-level, and performance issues on Linux and QNX, including boot failures, crashes, coredumps, CPU affinity, IPC contention, and logging overhead.

  • Coordinate hardware bring-up and debugging on vehicle racks and HIL benches, including sensors, MCUs, SoCs, automotive networks and buses, and PTP synchronization.

  • Own feature and system verticals end-to-end, including staging status, defect tracking, fix validation, in-vehicle testing, and post-drive log analysis.

  • Develop, integrate, and validate partner-specific interface adaptations, from initial implementation through functional bring-up on target platforms.

  • Serve as an ongoing technical point of contact for an OEM partner, supporting root-cause alignment, technical workshops, release planning, readiness reviews, and escalation management.

What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience in ADAS, automotive software, embedded systems, platform integration, or system validation within an OEM, Tier 1, or comparable environment.

  • Strong Linux and QNX debugging skills, with proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.

  • Solid understanding of RTOS, ADAS sensor sets, software integration, and AUTOSAR Adaptive and Classic, combined with hands-on hardware bring-up experience.

  • Experience with CI/CD, version control, and Docker or other containerized environments.

  • Familiarity with automotive protocols such as CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, and PTP, as well as code-review and patch-based workflows such as Gerrit.

  • Hands-on experience with vehicle production and after-sales topics, including coding, calibration, OTA updates, cybersecurity, diagnostics, and field-return investigations.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating directly and frequently with OEM customers.

  • Ability to independently drive ambiguous, cross-functional issues to resolution using a structured, evidence-based approach.

Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd:

  • Experience delivering a series-production ADAS or software-defined vehicle platform with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

  • A track record of owning complex customer issues from initial escalation through root-cause analysis and validated resolution.

  • Deep expertise in Linux or QNX internals, performance analysis, embedded networking, or system-level debugging.

  • Experience with ADAS or autonomous-driving functions, NVIDIA automotive platforms, GPU-accelerated simulation, fleet validation, or large-scale test infrastructure.

  • Valid EU driver's license; advanced vehicle-testing qualifications, such as T1/T2 or equivalent certification, are an advantage.

If you're passionate about autonomous vehicles, we would love to hear from you! NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and proud to be an equal opportunity employer. As we highly value diversity in our current and future employees, we do not discriminate (including in our hiring and promotion practices) on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.
