Senior Systems Engineer

Posted Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 6:30 PM | Expires Monday, August 31, 2026 at 6:29 PM Practice/Department: Application Modernization Position Title: Senior Consultant, Netcool Position Location: Remote Reports to: Director Job Summary: The experienced Senior Consultant, Netcool and Cloud Pak for AIOps (CP4AIOps) designs, implements, and manages advanced observability and AIOps solutions. The employee in this role has strong expertise in event management, root cause analysis, and automation to enhance IT operations efficiency and resilience. Essential Functions: Deploy, configure, and maintain IBM Netcool Operations Insight and IBM CP4AIOps environments. Integrate monitoring tools, event sources, and topology data for holistic observability. Experience in deploying Netcool Omnibus, Netcool Impact, and Cognos Analytics in high-availability environments. Experience in deploying topology manager, Runbook automation, and CENA components in the RedHat OCP platform. Experience deploying various probes and gateways in a high-availability environment Experience in developing probe custom rules. Experience in designing and developing Cognos custom reports Experience in developing Netcool Impact custom policies to integrate with 3rd party systems Develop automation workflows for incident remediation and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize IT operations and reduce MTTR. Ensure compliance with best practices for scalability, security, and performance. Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies Strong knowledge of system and networking concepts Total 7+ years of experience in IT 4+ years of relevant experience in IBM Netcool Operations Insight & AIOPS platform Hands-on experience with IBM Netcool, Cloud Pak for AIOps, and related components. Strong knowledge of event management, ITSM integration, and observability frameworks. Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized deployments. Scripting skills (Python or Shell) for automation and customization. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Education and Experience: Education - Bachelors or Master Degree in Computer Science or any Technology field. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
