Position Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineer, Mainframe Platform is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe infrastructure and associated technologies. This role provides technical leadership in the planning, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting of mainframe systems to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, clients, and technology partners to develop and deliver resilient solutions that support critical business operations.

This position serves as a senior technical resource, helping to ensure the reliability, security, and ongoing evolution of the organization's mainframe platform and services

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience supporting enterprise mainframe environments.

• Strong knowledge of IBM zSystems, z/OS, storage, networking, and related technologies.

• Experience with performance tuning, automation, disaster recovery, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Essential Functions:

• Design, implement, and support IBM mainframe and related infrastructure technologies.

• Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and security to ensure operational excellence.

• Lead technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues.

• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and support teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate requirements and recommend technology solutions.

• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

• Participate in project planning, solution architecture, and customer engagements as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies

· 5+ Years Experience

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
