Are you a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Linux and Solaris 11 expertise looking for a high-impact hybrid role in Pretoria?

We’re hiring a technically strong engineer to own, optimise and secure mission-critical Solaris and Linux environments in a performance-driven enterprise setting.

🔎 What You’ll Be Doing

✔ Administering and maintaining Solaris 11 OS environments

✔ Managing patches, SRUs, upgrades, and system lifecycle

✔ Performance tuning and throughput optimisation

✔ Managing Logical Domains (LDOMs), Zones, ZFS, SMF, IPS, ILOM, IPMP

✔ User, access & role-based security administration

✔ Backup strategy design, testing & disaster recovery planning

✔ Automation scripting (Shell / Perl)

✔ Incident response & system troubleshooting

✔ Working with vendors & evaluating new system management tools

✔ Maintaining compliance documentation & reporting

🧠 What You Need to Bring

• 7–10 years Linux system administration experience
• 2–4 years Solaris 11 administration experience
• Strong Solaris stack knowledge: LDOMs, Zones, ZFS, SMF, IPS, SRU patching
• Solid networking & security fundamentals
• Shell / Perl scripting for automation
• Proven troubleshooting and system optimisation expertise

Nice to Have:

• Solaris Certified Systems Administrator (SCSA)
• Solaris 11 Network Administration certification
• RHCE or related Linux certifications
