Senior Systems Security Engineer Dahlgren Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA Salary negotiable (Dependent on experience level) - Full Time with Benefits Flexible Start-Date – Contingent on contract award Strategic Data Systems (SDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Security Engineer to support a DoN customer. Strategic Data Systems is an experienced technical solutions provider for the Navy, Marine Corps, DoD, and other federal customers. Our mission is to provide exceptional technical capabilities, management, and support to the warfighter. This role provides technical leadership for security and systems administration, including the design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of security solutions in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, STIG implementation, system accreditation, and audits to ensure secure, compliant IT environments across DoD and Navy systems Responsibilities Design, install, configure, and manage security solutions for Navy IT environments. Conduct vulnerability analysis and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security threats. Perform SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) scans and implement STIGs to harden systems. Execute virus and malware scans, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. Support the accreditation and auditing of systems, maintaining compliance with DoD and Navy security frameworks. Troubleshoot security incidents, access control issues, and system vulnerabilities to maintain a resilient IT environment. Provide technical guidance and cybersecurity best practices to IT and security teams Required Qualifications Six (6) years of professional experience in relation to IT security with the DoD or Navy. Experience with vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, SCAP scans, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, scanning for viruses and other software that is detrimental. experience with SIEM tools, endpoint security solutions, and intrusion detection systems Qualified experience in accreditation of systems and audits.
