Looking to make your first move out of Big 4 Corporate Tax? This is a great opportunity to step in-house with a high-performing Australian financial services firm and join a small, tight-knit Tax team.
THE ROLE
- Join a team of five, all reporting directly to the Head of Tax, with real exposure and visibility from day one.
- Focus purely on the firm's own corporate tax affairs, rather than fund-level or client structures.
- Prepare and review income tax returns, tax provisions and tax effect calculations for the group.
- Manage BAS/GST, FBT and other indirect tax compliance obligations.
- Get involved in tax advisory work, providing input on new business initiatives, transactions and the tax implications of commercial decisions.
- Support the year-end and half-year tax reporting process alongside the finance team.
- Assist with ATO reviews, information requests and correspondence.
- Contribute to process improvements and help strengthen the team's tax governance framework.
ABOUT YOU
- Background in Corporate Tax from a Big 4 Accounting firm or Mid-tier Chartered.
- Experience with Financial Services or ASX-listed clients ideal but not required
- Solid technical knowledge of Australian corporate tax compliance and tax accounting.
- CA or CTA qualified, or working towards it (handy, but not essential).
- Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- A genuine in-house role where you see the full tax cycle rather than one slice of it.
- Close mentoring from an experienced Head of Tax in a small, collaborative team.
- A well-regarded financial services business with a strong reputation in the market.
- A Sydney CBD office, working four days in the office and one from home.
