About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Advise on intricate tax questions tied to property and fiduciary arrangements, working alongside a senior practice leader. The position combines detailed technical research, formal written opinions and autonomous handling of client relationships.
What you'll do
- Advise on complex tax issues involving property transactions, fiduciary structures and partnership-style entities.
- Research unsettled and novel questions of tax law in depth.
- Prepare formal written opinions that satisfy federal professional standards.
- Absorb challenging matters from the practice leader and lead client relationships without close supervision.
- Work with colleagues from other legal disciplines within a full-service firm.
What we're looking for
- Substantial dedicated tax practice, with the length of experience depending on whether the path is senior associate or junior partner.
- Work history that is truly tax-focused rather than general estate planning.
- Licensed attorney, with New York admission preferred or a readiness to pursue it.
- Deep technical command of tax rules for property, fiduciary and pass-through matters.
- Hands-on background in estate planning and administration, including client intake, relationship management and preparing estate documents.
- Track record of writing formal tax opinions and using standard legal and tax research tools.
- A steady career record without repeated brief tenures.
- An existing portable client base.
- A considerate, sensitive manner with clients in planning discussions.
- Availability to start right away and willingness to share a professional writing sample during hiring.
Bonus points
- CPA designation.
