About First Due First Due’s mission is to prevent first responder injury or death by providing fire and EMS agencies with transformative, end-to-end software solutions that empower them to run safer, smarter, and more effective operations. Job Title: Senior Technical Services Analyst Location : Remote - US Only Country : United States Department : Professional Services Reports To : Senior Manager, Data Migration Position Type : Full-Time Salary : $110,000 Job Summary: As a Senior Technical Services Analyst on the Data Migration team within Professional Services, you will own the end-to-end delivery of complex data migration projects for Enterprise, State, Federal, and Multi-Agency customers implementing the First Due platform. But this is not a role where you simply run queries and check boxes. You are a data expert and a systems thinker: someone who can sit across from a fire chief, understand how their agency has structured 20 years of operational data, and translate that into a migration plan that not only moves records cleanly but positions the customer to succeed in the new system from day one. You will work directly with customers, implementation teams, Data Operations, Product, and Engineering to define data requirements, design migration strategies, execute complex transformations, and validate deployed data. Beyond project delivery, you will serve as a subject matter expert on data architecture and migration best practices across Professional Services and the broader organization. This role is forward-looking. We are investing in ETL automation, data pipeline tooling, and AI-assisted workflows to scale how we deliver. You will be expected to bring curiosity and technical depth to those efforts: contributing expertise, testing new tools, and helping shape how data migration evolves from a manual craft into a scalable, automated discipline. If you are excited about solving hard data problems, mentoring others, and pushing boundaries on how technical services are delivered, this is the role for you. Key Responsibilities: Data Migration Delivery & Technical Execution Own the full lifecycle of data migration projects: requirements gathering, extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and go-live support Analyze complex legacy data structures and design migration approaches that account for how data will operate within First Due's architecture (not just field-level mapping, but system-level impact) Author advanced SQL to extract, join, and transform disparate data from customer sources including SQL backups, CSV, XML, TXT, and multi-system exports Solve novel migration challenges: multi-system consolidations, new module implementations, non-standard data structures, and customers with advanced operational requirements Execute quality assurance on deployed data; identify and resolve discrepancies with minimal escalation Requirements Translation & Solution Design Translate customer operational models and legacy data structures into First Due's architecture, understanding downstream impacts on workflows, reporting, and system behavior Identify gaps and edge cases between legacy systems and First Due; propose creative solutions or escalate to Product with clear, actionable context Guide customers through data decisions using deep platform knowledge, industry context, and a consultative approach Serve as the technical voice in the room during customer-facing conversations involving data scope, feasibility, and constraints Mentorship & Subject Matter Expertise Serve as a SQL and data architecture SME for the Data Migration team; coach junior analysts on query construction, data modeling, validation approaches, and best practices Provide direction and technical review across active migration projects, helping elevate quality and consistency across the team Contribute expertise to internal tooling, process design, and documentation that scales the team's capabilities Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Implementation Managers to scope and sequence data work within broader project timelines Coordinate with Data Operations on load specifications, environment readiness, and production deployment Support Product and Engineering with data-informed feedback on schema changes, import tool capabilities, and customer-facing data features Automation, ETL Awareness & Continuous Improvement Contribute knowledge and expertise to the team's ETL pipeline and automation initiatives (pipeline orchestration, schema-as-code, automated validation) Identify repetitive or manual work and build (or help build) scripts, templates, and workflows to reduce it Experiment with AI-assisted workflows and tooling to deliver results faster with less manual overhead Maintain awareness of modern data engineering practices and tools that can improve migration delivery at scale Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in data migration, data operations, or a technical implementation role within a SaaS environment In-depth experience writing SQL from scratch, including complex joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, and output validation In-depth understanding of relational databases, structured data formats, and data modeling concepts Demonstrated ability to manage Enterprise-level customer relationships from a detailed, technical perspective Demonstrated experience serving as the go-to technical voice with customers, translating complex data topics into clear, actionable guidance Proficiency mentoring and coaching others on SQL, data practices, and migration methodology Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, conditional formatting, data cleansing) Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent complex projects Clear, professional written and verbal communication Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ETL pipeline concepts, workflow orchestration, and data pipeline automation (e.g., dbt, Airflow, or similar tools) Familiarity with data warehouse architectures, staging environments, and schema-as-code practices Experience with cloud data infrastructure (AWS S3, Redshift, RDS, or equivalent) Knowledge of data validation frameworks and automated testing approaches Experience with Fire/EMS data standards (NFIRS, NERIS, NEMSIS) or public safety technology Understanding of GIS data components and geospatial data handling Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Rust, Bash) for data transformation or automation Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows For US-based Roles All applicants must be authorized to work for any US employer in the United States.
