Reporting to the Vice President of Life Sciences, you will work collaboratively with the local sales and operational teams to deliver exceptional customer solutions, support large projects, and strengthen partnerships with key customers. You will serve as an authority on product specification, project management, customer application solutions, and factory customization capabilities of each brand while ensuring technical resources on the operation team are fit for purpose to serve the life science market. The primary responsibility of the STS will be to work with all functional groups throughout the Life Sciences division to help define, develop, and drive our technical expertise and engineering support structure. This role will be expected to build a strong network of key contacts within the engineering/design teams of our key customers, engineering firms, and consultancies. The STS will have responsibility for training these contacts on the unique technical value propositions to help influence their recommendations to their customers for specifying WMFTS products. STS is expected to intimately know the technical capabilities of all WMFTS engineering resources, both local and global. You will remain up-to-date with on all developments related to products, services, and procedures to help WM Inc deliver unmatched service quality while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. In this high-impact role, you will also act as a thought leader, representing Watson-Marlow at industry events, building relationships with decision-makers, and serving as the authority on large project negotiations while aligning with the long-term goals of both our clients and the organization. What you’ll be doing Large Project Technical Lead: Serve as the primary technical contact and facilitate the deliverables for both local and global large projects. Duties include creation and maintenance of documentation relating to the project, along with coordinating project expectations with the customer and WMFTS resources to help ensure all commitments are delivered on time. Technical Expertise: Be the recognised company expert in emerging technical trends, regulatory compliance, complimentary products, and competitive product capabilities to help inform our sales team on how to better position WMFTS products with their customers. Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation by identifying gaps in our technical service portfolio and implementing best practices to improve the customer impact of WMFTS resources.Work with WMFTS factories to support customer requests for customization, testing requirements, and validating outcomes.Lead local support for new product innovation initiatives. Training and Support: Collaborate with the local sales, operations teams, and key customers to improve their overall technical knowledge through regular training sessions and field support.This includes onsite customer training, certified customer training, and supporting internal employee training opportunities. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Application Engineering leadership to develop and implement annual strategic plans for delivering our engineering solutions to the market using available operations resources and factory support.Help manage customer expectations by clearly defining our capability and capacity to support customers to all internal stakeholders. Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with key industry contacts by understanding their needs and aligning our technical resources to provide solutions more effectively. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering and technical support, ensuring business continuity and long-term success. Networking: Attend and/or present at conferences and exhibitions to network and meet new contacts, expanding our reach and identifying potential business opportunities. Health & Safety: Ensure the business provides a consistently safe working environment for all colleagues, drive health and safety improvements, and monitor EHS performance. Governance: Comply with all aspect of the Spirax Group policies and procedure. Who you’ll be working with The Strategic Accounts function is pivotal to the continued delivery of services to our major customers. Success within this function requires strong partnership with our local Sales teams, Strategic Account peers in other locations. This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role Strong knowledge of key customers and processes and applications within the Life Sciences sector including an expert understanding of the industry and market dynamics. Significant commercial management and Sales experience including Key Account or Large Customer management experience of large complex, global or multi-regional accounts. Contract reviews/negotiation experience and awareness of contractual principles and risks. Proven ability to lead, grow and develop high performance teams, Ideally in a regional role. Ability to generate followership across regional, multifunctional departments; ideally within a similar corporate organisation. Cultural and regional awareness with the ability to work across countries and cultures, ideally working with a similar multinational manufacturer. Physical Demands: Mobility: This is a remote position that primarily requires sitting at a desk or computer workstation for extended periods, with occasional need to stand or move around to maintain health and well-being. This position offers a salary range of USD 104,076.00 - 156,115.00 per year. Final salary offers are determined by multiple factors, including education, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and the candidate’s expertise, and therefore may vary from the range listed.
