Senior Technical Team Leader Join Minster Law as Senior Technical Team Leader: coach leaders, strengthen compliance and commercial performance, and help deliver excellent outcomes for clients and the business. Job Summary As a member of the Fixed Costs Leadership Team, the Senior Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership, coaching and oversight to Team Leaders to ensure the effective progression of Fixed Cost cases, strong commercial performance including the litigation strategy, robust risk management, and excellent client outcomes. The role will lead the development and deployment of the supervision framework and departmental best practice, ensuring compliance with SRA and other regulatory requirements, while using quality reviews, DIP checks and performance insight to identify themes, drive improvement and build technical capability across the department. Working closely with operational and technical leads, the postholder will support the delivery of departmental objectives and play a key role in developing talent, embedding consistency, and creating a high-performing technical leadership culture. Core Responsibilities · To provide effective technical coaching to the Fixed Costs Team Leaders to ensure their team’s cases are progressed in a timely manner whilst achieving the required operational, financial and client service performance in line with the firms’ objectives and KPI’s. · To drive the right commercial behaviour of all our Team Leaders · To ensure an robust and commercial litigation strategy is in place that drives the right outcomes for both clients and the business. · To undertake quality reviews and DIP checks of the Team Leader first line supervision, reporting outcomes and next steps where required. · Responsible for the development and deployment of the Supervision Framework, ensuring it is fit for purpose, adherence to DALs as well as ensuring the effective understanding and deployment of the departmental best practices and processes. · Identifying and escalating Technical Compliance issues, ensuring all work completed is compliant to meet SRA and other regulatory requirements. · Ensuring the effective management of client complaints ensuring there is no repeat complaints and in line with departmental tolerances. Providing guidance and support to Team Leaders on complaint handling and where appropriate intervene. · To deputise for the Director on all costs related matters (including funding) including approvals in line with delegated authority limits. Ensuring all Team Leaders drive cash and costs recovery performance. · To line manage the assigned Quality Assurance lead and to provide direction and scope of required DIP and/or trigger checks to ensure the effective use of the best practice and supervision framework. Identify themes and create effective plans to resolve any issues arising. · Consult with all other technical and operational leads across the business for the effective deployment of “Right Case, Right Track.” · To be fully accountable for the effective onboarding of all new and transferred cases ensuring all tactics and best practice is deployed. · Ensuring Team Leaders have identified key talent and develop individual technical plans to accelerate capability into upwards or sidewards roles. Core Skills · Exceptional knowledge of Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocols / Civil Procedure Rules / Funding / Costs of cases in particular around fixed cost cases. · Good numerical skills and able to interpret MI & data. · Ability to prioritise & work quickly, accurately and to deadlines with effective & appropriate delegation. · Ability to lead with integrity, be respectful of all colleague opinions. · Good interpersonal / communication skills both written & verbal (including drafting & advocacy skills) with self-awareness of your own impact on others & an ability to consider appropriate forums for communications. · Excellent client care skills with experience of dealing with client complaints and issues. · Ability to follow Company process / guidelines & make appropriate decisions. · Ability to motivate colleagues & work as part of a team with strong supervisory skills and an ability to put others at ease and build trust & confidence through self-awareness and a high degree of emotional intelligence. Key Performance Indictors Your KPIs and Objectives will be discussed and agreed with you on a one-to-one basis. You will have regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager to review your performance against these objectives and identify any areas for development and/or required support. Working Hours To succeed in this role, you will be required to work most of your contracted hours within core business hours (Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm).
