D&G is seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation and Validation Engineer to support the Integrated Data Environment & Global Transportation Network Convergence (IGC) Contract. In this role, you will lead test automation, system validation, performance testing, and quality-engineering activities for mission-critical transportation and logistics applications.

This position offers the opportunity to design enterprise test frameworks, validate applications and integrations, integrate automated testing into CI/CD processes, and produce test evidence supporting release readiness, Government validation, and acceptance activities.

What You Will Do
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute scalable automated test frameworks covering functional, integration, regression, API, database, UI, smoke, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, JUnit, pytest, or comparable technologies.
• Develop test strategies, release test plans, GVT/GAT plans, test cases, validation procedures, traceability artifacts, and test evidence; lead support for Government Validation Testing and Government Acceptance Testing.
• Validate applications, APIs, microservices, databases, interfaces, and enterprise workflows against requirements, acceptance criteria, business rules, and mission objectives. Use SQL and automated validation techniques to verify data integrity, transactions, transformations, and application outputs.
• Plan and execute performance, load, stress, scalability, endurance, reliability, and failover testing; analyze results, identify defects and risks, and verify corrective actions through retesting.
• Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD processes and support testing across development, test, staging, and production-like environments, including cloud and containerized environments.
• Provide test evidence supporting cybersecurity, RMF, STIG, secure-development, and applicable Section 508 requirements while maintaining test documentation, quality metrics, and release assessments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring while collaborating with developers, data and database engineers, cloud/DevSecOps and cybersecurity personnel, Product Owners, functional analysts, operations staff, and Government stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

Required
• Eight or more years of professional experience in software testing, test automation, systems validation, quality engineering, software development, or a related technical field, including experience designing and maintaining enterprise-level automated test frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience with automated testing, API and integration testing, SQL/database validation, requirements traceability, defect management, risk-based testing, and release validation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Bash.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD processes and maintaining automation assets in Git-based repositories.
• Experience testing applications in AWS or another enterprise cloud environment, with familiarity with containerized deployments.
• Experience using Jira, GitLab, Confluence, or comparable ALM, source-control, test-management, and defect-tracking tools.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, mentoring, and stakeholder-communication skills.

Preferred
• Experience leading GVT, GAT, formal release validation, or comparable Government acceptance testing in a Department of Defense or federal environment.
• Experience with cloud migrations, application modernization, database migrations, complex system integrations, and enterprise performance testing.
• Experience with Apache Superset or another enterprise business-intelligence and data-visualization platform.
• Familiarity with AWS services, managed databases, container platforms, centralized monitoring, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment processes.
• Knowledge of DoD software-assurance, RMF, STIG, secure-development, and Section 508 validation practices.
• Experience supporting USTRANSCOM, Department of Defense logistics, or another mission-critical federal system.

Clearance and Eligibility
• Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, as required by assigned duties and contract requirements.
