Senior Test Manager - Core Banking Platform

The Senior Test Manager – Core Banking Solutions is responsible for planning, coordinating and governing all testing activities across Core Banking delivery initiatives. The role ensures that software releases meet agreed quality standards and are delivered in a predictable, controlled and efficient manner. The Senior Test Manager acts as the primary quality lead within a program or portfolio of projects and works closely with Delivery Leads, Business Stakeholders, Development Teams, Release Management and Clients to ensure successful test execution and release readiness. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring proactive leadership, strong ownership and active management of risks, defects, dependencies and stakeholder expectations. Define and own the overall test strategy, test planning, and resource management across projects and releases Lead and coordinate SIT, End-to-End Testing, and support UAT execution Ensure adequate test coverage for functional and non-functional requirements Manage test execution, delivery timelines, and testing commitments Drive defect management, prioritisation, resolution, and risk escalation Govern quality gates, release readiness assessments, and go-live recommendations Provide transparent reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, defects, and delivery risks Act as the central point of contact for all testing and quality-related matters across Business, Development, Architecture, Operations, and Release Management Drive test automation, CI/CD-aligned quality practices, and continuous improvement initiatives Lead, coach, and develop Test Leads, Test Engineers, and external testing resources while fostering a culture of accountability and quality excellence Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Banking Technology or related field ISTQB Advanced Level, Agile Testing or equivalent certification preferred Professional Experience 5-10 years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance or Delivery Management Proven delivery experience within Core Banking, Wealth Management or Financial Services Experience leading complex SIT, UAT and End-to-End testing programs Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles in regulated environments Experience managing distributed and international teams Strong ownership and accountability mindset Delivery-oriented and execution-focused Excellent stakeholder management skills Proactive risk identification and escalation management Language Requirements Mandatory German (C2 / Native) English (C2 / Native or near-native business proficiency) Preferred French (professional working proficiency) Additional European language skills are advantageous We realize that managing work life balance is a challenge we all face in our daily lives and in order to support with this we are pleased to offer hybrid and flexible working for most of our Avaloqers to maintain work life balance and still continue our fantastic Avaloq culture in our global offices.
