Senior Transporation Planner

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze complex distribution plans to support load planning operations for all truckload and LTL orders, identify opportunities to consolidate orders into multi-stop truckloads; Routing shipments to accommodate delivery requirements of each individual customer load.
• Consistently identifies optimal freight solutions to achieve desired results through operational efficiency, in driving transportation metrics such as payload utilization, late deliveries impact, on-time performance and saving initiatives.
• Mentor/train new load planners.
• Provide coverage for absence of other members of the Transportation planning team.
• Assist Transportation managers in analyzing data to identify and implement cost effective solutions.
• Analyze historical data trends to guide in future operational efficiencies.
• Generate and analyze daily/weekly/period reports as required from TMS/ERP.
• Provide best in class quality transportation services for both internal and external customers while, working closely with customer service representatives, plant, and DC personnel & carriers to resolve service issues
• Transportation plan for pickup of purchased products and interplant movements to Saputo Distribution Centers.
• Proactively find ways to prevent service issues and/or continuously improve carrier performance.
• Develop strong working relationships with largest carriers and resolves any carrier issues including rerouting loads, in transit related issues, support overage, shortage, damage (OS&D), etc.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field or equivalent job experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the transportation field
• Transportation operations experience required.
• Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, planning, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience participating on cross-functional teams.
• Ability to develop relationships with all levels of management.

Salary range: $73,815- 92,270

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.

Hybrid office: 4 days in office, 1 day remote
