The Mannik & Smith Group (MSG) continues to grow — and we’re excited to add a Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager to our Mansfield, OH team! This is an excellent opportunity for mid to senior level engineers to work on and lead a diverse range of roadway and aviation projects while learning from experienced professionals and building a rewarding career in transportation engineering.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Do
  • As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, managing, and developing transportation infrastructure projects that improve how communities move and connect. You will:
  • Support fellow senior engineers and project managers in preparing transportation design plans for state, municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential projects — all within a 3D digital environment.
  • Perform and review design calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Contribute to the development of design packages, including roadway geometry, drainage, grading, and plan preparation.
  • Assist with early project phases, including feasibility studies, permitting, and cost estimating.
  • Support aviation projects, contributing to runway and airfield design and analysis.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • P.E in the state of OH (highly preferred)
  • Experience working with OpenRoads Designer
  • Familiarity with ODOT Design Standards
  • Experience managing transportation or roadway projects (highly preferred)
  • A strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to grow your technical and project management skills

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
