Our flagship product, SpeakBuddy, an AI-powered English conversation app, has been used by over 5 million people and continues to grow rapidly.

To accelerate this growth, we are increasing our investment in product improvement.
Creating engaging and effective learning experiences that motivate users to keep learning, while making the app more intuitive, user-friendly, and enjoyable, is one of our key business priorities.

Going forward, we are placing particular emphasis not only on experience design but also on the quality of individual screens, visual expression, and the overall polish of our product. For this role, we are looking for someone who can leverage strong graphic design fundamentals—including typography, color, and layout—to create visually refined, high-quality user interfaces, in addition to information architecture and UX design.

To support these ambitions, we are opening a new UI/UX Designer position.

This role will focus on two of our most important priorities:
Elevating the learning experience through UI/UX design to make it both enjoyable and effective, encouraging users to continue learning.
Taking the lead in enhancing overall product quality and consistency through polished UI design, visual design, and the development and adoption of a design system.

Rather than simply maintaining established patterns or an existing design system, you will help build the foundations from the ground up and embed a consistent visual language and user experience across the product and the team.

【Key Responsibilities】

Enhance the learning experience: Improve the enjoyment and effectiveness of learning through thoughtful screen design, visual design, and meticulous UI refinement.
Build and maintain design consistency: Maintain and evolve the design system, including updating, improving, and maintaining UI components and visual guidelines to enhance product-wide quality and consistency.
Drive product improvements across a global team: Clearly communicate design rationale and UI quality standards while collaborating with a multinational team to drive continuous product improvement.
English is primarily used when collaborating with designers and engineers, while Japanese is commonly used when working with business-side colleagues.

【Team Structure】

Organization and Reporting Line
You will join the Product Management Division, which consists of Product Management and Design teams.
You will be part of the Design team and report to the Lead Designer.

Design Team
The team currently consists of:
2 UI/UX Designer
1 UI Designer / Illustrator

All three team members are international professionals who can communicate in English.

You will work closely with the Design team, Product Managers, and engineers from other departments to improve our product.

必須スキル

【Required Qualifications】

At least 3 years of professional UI/UX design experience for mobile applications, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong UI and visual design skills, backed by solid graphic design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, and layout.
Experience designing and creating engaging user interfaces that incorporate motion and interactive elements.

Experience with Rive is particularly welcome. We also welcome candidates who have created animations using Lottie, After Effects, or Unity UI, or who have advanced prototyping skills in Figma.

【Language Requirements】

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Option 1
English: Fluent or above
Japanese: Business-level proficiency or above

Option 2
Japanese: Fluent or above
English: No hesitation about using or learning English at work. Candidates who are not yet proficient in English are welcome if they are motivated to improve their English skills.

Experience working on entertainment or educational apps.
Experience creating visual assets such as illustrations, icons, or characters.
Experience creating animations or interactive elements in native iOS or Android environments.

給与

Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,000,000 - ¥9,000,000

・Includes a fixed overtime allowance equivalent to 25 hours per month.
・Paid in equal monthly installments based on the annual amount.

勤務体系

Flexible working hours with core hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Hybrid work: A combination of office-based and remote work, with approximately 1–2 days per week in the office.

試用期間

3 months. No changes to compensation or employment conditions during the probationary period.
