We offer the stability of an established, publicly traded company and a remote-friendly culture that trusts our people to own their work.

  • Own an established renewal book and meet all statutory deadlines, including conditional renewal and non-renewal notices
  • Evaluate risk, classification, and loss experience independently, including small accounts with limited information
  • Compile relevant information and document underwriting decisions; refer to management when appropriate with sound rationale and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain strong agency relationships in partnership with your sales partner
  • Provide thorough guidance to Underwriting Services staff processing coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines and SLAs
  • Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication to internal and external customers, including delivering unfavorable decisions, and resolve issues
  • Route requests to the right owner across Underwriting Services, Claims, Audit, Payment Services, and Customer Service
  • Maintain current product line and industry expertise; share competitive intelligence and market trends with leadership and peers
  • Participate in organizational projects and cross-functional initiatives as requested
  • Senior level: serve as the primary escalation resource for complex accounts and referrals, and mentor and coach Underwriters and Associate Underwriters

    • Associate: 1+ years
    • Underwriter: 3+ years
    • Senior: 5+ years
  • Proficiency working with complex underwriting documents, coverage forms, financial data, and regulatory guidance
  • Analytical skills including loss ratios, net rates, experience modifications, and portfolio metrics (depth scales with level)
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex, non-standard, and ambiguous situations
  • Excellent written, verbal, telephone, and virtual communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred: CPCU, AU, ARM, or CIC (pursuit of designations is encouraged and supported)

  • Private, quiet workspace suitable for focused work and video collaboration
  • Occasional travel to off-site locations for meetings may be required

Compensation: $60,000–$110,000 depending on level and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. EMPLOYERS Benefits About EMPLOYERS
