About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced SVP Project Finance Advisory to take senior ownership of our largest and most complex climate mitigation project finance deals, from origination through financial close. Beyond leading deals personally, this individual will continue to build and develop the Project Finance team, set the standards by which every project is structured and reviewed, and act as a senior representative of the organization with our most important clients and partners.

The ideal candidate combines deep, hands-on expertise in international climate mitigation project finance with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams. A minimum of 7 years' experience as a project finance advisor and demonstrated experience leading deal teams are both required for this role. Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the organization’s largest, most complex climate mitigation project finance deals, from origination to financial close, ensuring alignment with investment and risk management strategy.

• Structure and negotiate debt and equity financing arrangements, including the most structurally challenging transactions in the pipeline.

• Build, manage and mentor a team of VP and associate deal leads, providing coaching, quality and escalation support across the deal pipeline.

• Serve as a senior point of contact for key lenders, investors, development finance institutions, and strategic partners, deepening long-term relationships at the most senior level.

• Set and continuously refine the deal execution playbook, due-diligence standards, and risk frameworks used across the team.

• Partner with senior leadership on capital-raising strategy, platform growth, and the identification of new geographies, sectors or financing structures.

• Conduct or oversee due diligence on financial, regulatory, and technical aspects of deals, and review the financial models and risk assessments prepared by the team.

• Collaborate with internal legal, engineering, and business development leadership to ensure seamless execution across the full transaction lifecycle.

• Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory change, and market dynamics affecting climate mitigation project finance, and translate them into actionable input for strategy.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements (Mandatory)

• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Project Finance Advisor.

• Proven, hands-on experience leading deal teams, not solely individual deal execution.

Finance & Deal-Making Expertise

• 10+ years of experience in climate mitigation project finance, with substantial international experience.

• Demonstrated track record leading and closing large, structurally complex transactions, including debt, equity, and blended finance.

• Deep expertise in financial modeling, credit analysis, and risk assessment, at a level sufficient to review and quality-control the work of others.

• Extensive experience negotiating and closing project finance agreements, including term sheets, loan agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs), typically as the senior-most deal negotiator.

Leadership & People Management

• Proven experience building, mentoring, developing and leading a high-performing deal team, not only executing deals individually.

• Comfortable setting team-wide standards, workflows, quality benchmarks, and holding others to them.

• Experience managing accountability for a multi-deal pipeline delivered by others, not just one's own transactions.

Strategic & Organizational Impact

• Ability to translate market trends, regulatory shifts, and portfolio performance into actionable input for firm strategy.

• Experience engaging directly with a Board, Investment Committee, or equivalent senior governance body.

• Strong track record representing an organization externally with lenders, investors, development finance institutions, and industry bodies.

• Genuine commitment to sustainability and global decarbonization, with the credibility to represent that mission publicly.
