Senior/Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

Join a cybersecurity product team building new tools for the U.S. defense industrial base. This hands-on role spans experimental product development and foundational infrastructure, helping advance the team's work in AI and cybersecurity.

What You'll Do

• Build full-stack features for emerging products or develop foundational infrastructure.

• Contribute across the product lifecycle, from planning and design through deployment and optimization.

• Work with product, design, and engineering partners in a fast-moving, iterative environment.

• Maintain high engineering standards while moving quickly and taking ownership.

• Mentor engineers and help shape team practices and culture.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 years of full-stack software development experience, including senior or staff-level technical work.

• Strong production experience with TypeScript and a modern object-oriented backend language.

• Experience with React, GraphQL, and Ruby on Rails; familiarity with Rust or Node.js is useful.

• Experience leading multi-engineer projects and mentoring other engineers.

• A track record of ownership, technical depth, and delivering complex software in startup environments.

• Interest in cybersecurity and comfort working with the U.S. defense industrial base.

• Strong computer science fundamentals or equivalent senior engineering experience.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $210,000 to $260,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid role based in New York City. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to New York City.
