SEO content writer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a highly skilled and very specialized German-speaking digital content writer who combines exceptional and quick writing ability with a strong understanding of SEO, emerging Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), and digital publishing.

You'll create content across a wide range of industries and subjects, including in-depth articles, landing pages, blog posts, and structured web content that performs well in search engines while also providing genuine value to readers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys becoming an expert in new topics, conducting thorough research, and producing content that is both technically accurate and engaging. You'll work closely with our SEO team and have significant ownership of the content you produce throughout the entire content lifecycle.

We are looking for a professional and highly specialized digital content writer rather than a general and traditional editor, copywriter or journalist.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Research and write long-form articles, blog posts, landing pages, and explanatory content in German and English
• Produce both qualitative content aimed mainly at humans and quantitative content aimed mainly for search engines
• Adapt tone, structure, and writing style to different industries, audiences, and search intent
• Optimise content for readability, search intent, and on-page SEO/AEO best practices
• Collaborate with the SEO team on keyword strategy and content planning
• Occasionally produce content in Swiss Standard German when required
• Deliver consistently high-quality work within agreed deadlines

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Fluent in German is required
• Professional English
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Experience writing professional SEO content in a B2B context at a fast pace
• Strong research skills and the ability to quickly become knowledgeable in unfamiliar subjects
• Comfortable writing both qualitative and quantitative content, and ability to switch between quickly
• Ability to write authoritative content across technical, financial, legal, healthcare, industrial, or other specialist domains after conducting independent research
• Reliable, structured, and self-directed work style
• Experience working with content assignments priced per word
• Very strong focus on SEO content writing
• A quick learner, passionate about SEO/AEO and eager to stay up to date with industry developments, AI search, and evolving best practices

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Swiss Standard German
• Experience with AI-assisted writing workflows
• Experience creating images (Canva, AI tools, or similar)
• Previous experience at a content, SEO, or digital marketing agency
• Knowledge of CMS platforms such as WordPress
