This is a remote position.
An independent, strategy-led creative agency (based in London, working with challenger and ambitious brands) is looking for a hands-on SEO specialist to significantly grow organic search visibility and generate qualified new-business leads — not just deliver an audit and disappear.
What you'll do
Audit current site performance and competitor SEO strategy
Identify commercially valuable search opportunities and map them to site architecture
Implement on-page SEO directly in Squarespace (titles, meta, URLs, schema, internal linking, GSC/GA4, redirects)
Develop and help write/edit a search-led content strategy (quality writing essential — no generic AI content)
Build a sensible link/authority strategy (editorial links and digital PR only — no bulk/paid link tactics)
Factor in visibility within AI-driven search (ChatGPT, Google AI search) alongside traditional SEO
Requirements
What we're looking for
5+ years SEO experience with a proven record of growing organic visibility
Experience with B2B, professional services, agencies, or consultancies
Strong writing/editorial judgement and excellent written English
Squarespace, Google Search Console, and GA4 expertise
Understanding of site architecture, internal linking, and content strategy
Familiarity with AI search/GEO is a plus
Must be based in South Africa
