Service Desk Technician I

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Department: MSP
  • Work Location: Remote – U.S.; ability to travel to client sites and work nights and weekends as needed


Position Summary
The Service Desk Technician I provides efficient and accurate remote technical support to end users as a frontline member of the MSP team. This role resolves common technology issues, documents service requests, and helps ensure client concerns are identified and addressed promptly to support reliable day-to-day operations and exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming Service Desk calls and emails.
  • Create service tickets and gather essential client information, including company and user details, issue descriptions, and the number of affected users.
  • Resolve basic account and access issues, including password resets, Microsoft 365 license changes, and local or domain user updates.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, Microsoft 365, network connectivity, mapped drive, and printer issues.
  • Install approved client-side software and configure email on mobile devices.
  • Add, update, and maintain client service information in runbooks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in a Service Desk or IT support role.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, note-taking, and the ability to capture technical information accurately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate effective time-management skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
