About the role The Settlements Officer will be a pivotal member of the finance team in Trading and Shipping, responsible for overseeing settlements and finance function in the US office. The appointed individual will: Manage the invoice booking and verification process for cargo, freight and ancillary invoices Oversee the financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and optimize resources. Key responsibilities Monitor due dates to ensure timely receipt and issuance of invoices Validate and process invoices covering purchases and sales, freight, ancillary charges, and demurrage. Clear receipts and payments and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues. Deliver accurate, timely financial reports and manage assigned financial functions. Perform additional duties as required by the line manager. Skills & Experience Diploma or higher in Accounting / Business / Finance 5+ years of relevant experience in Settlements or Finance in the Oil and Gas industry Knowledge of accounting principles Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Experience with SAP and CTRM system Meticulous, hands-on and pay attention to details Effective communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, can successfully identify process improvements Understanding of commodity trading life cycle Understanding on basic contract law At Ampol, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
