Shopify Developer (m/w/d)

About the role

Rankist GmbH is a Shopify agency managing a growing portfolio of online shops with an international remote team. We're looking for a Shopify Developer to take ownership of the technical side of our shops.

With a lot of shops comes a lot of work: a constant, varied stream of tasks, from quick fixes to full custom builds. You can turn a client's idea into a complete, ready-to-use solution and keep everything running smoothly day to day. And if you can automate repetitive work along the way to make the team faster, that's a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Shopify themes, apps, and integrations (Liquid, Admin & Storefront API, webhooks)
• Take a client's idea all the way to a complete, ready-to-use solution, whatever that takes, from apps to custom code
• Keep up with a high volume of day-to-day tasks: smaller changes, fixes, promos, and making sure all apps run reliably across our shops
• Own the technical health of our shops and proactively suggest improvements
• Bonus: automate repetitive tasks wherever it makes the team faster

Requirements

• Deep, production-level Shopify expertise. This is what matters most.
• Strong command of Liquid and Shopify theme development
• Able to take a complex client requirement from idea to a finished, ready-to-use solution, using whatever the job needs: apps, custom code, or both
• Solid experience with the Shopify Admin API, apps, and third-party integrations
• Several years of hands-on Shopify work, with real shops you can point to
• Comfortable juggling a high volume of tasks across multiple shops and prioritizing well without much hand-holding
• Comfortable writing whatever else the job needs (we don't care about specific languages, we care that it works and it's clean)
• A proactive mindset: you spot what can be improved or automated without being told
• Structured, independent working style suited to a fully remote, async team
• Fluent written and spoken English; German is a plus

• Knowledge of automation is a big plus
