Job Title: Side Closures Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Side Closures Engineer responsible for the design and release of side door assemblies, including the engineering of door structures, hinges, and check arms. This role involves overseeing the entire program life cycle from concept design, supplier engagement, and BOM management to simulation analysis, prototyping, validation testing, and production support. The position requires compliance with program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets while applying the Global Product Development System process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the component release for closures components such as door structures, hinges, and check arms throughout the program life cycle.
- Ensure compliance with program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
- Apply Global Product Development System (GPDS) processes and Robustness Engineering Disciplines.
- Develop Engineering Statement of Work and participate in the sourcing process.
- Engage with suppliers and review piece and tooling cost, as well as conduct CPA.
- Participate in Technical Design Reviews (TDR) with upper management.
- Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS BOM systems throughout the product life cycle.
- Support change control meetings and update BOM with correct part levels for prototype builds.
- Identify validation, durability, and functional tests required as per design validation plans.
- Provide technical solutions to emerging issues via AIMS and JIRA resolution systems.
- Define and verify engineering prototype requirements at the part level.
- Implement and sign-off parts in assembly plants at all milestones.
- Support VQR, VRT, and PVT teams to solve quality and plant issues.
- Collaborate with purchasing to identify potential suppliers for part localization.
- Provide technical assistance to suppliers through the Supplier Engagement Process.
- Comply with quarterly objectives and targets.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in the office.. Remote-only candidates are not considered, and relocation expenses will be at the candidates own cost.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
