About the role: As a Simulation Modeling Intern, you will participate in the validation of the passive safety systems of AP1000 reactors, a Westinghouse technology. The aim of this validation is to analyze the performance of AP1000 training simulators, and to gain knowledge of their development and testing tools. This is a part-time paid internship of 25 hours per week, with a total duration of 6 months, starting in September - October. You will report to the Simulation Modeling Codes Supervisor and be located at our HQ in Madrid. This is a hybrid role and you will be eligible to receive course credit. Main Responsibilities: Identification and handling of the engineering documentation required to develop modeling tests, and the documentation associated with model development. Preparation, recording, and review of documentation related to modeling tests following defined standards. Model validation, including analysis of behavior and real-time execution requirements. Use corporate tools for automated simulator validation and configuration control. Management and tracking of model discrepancies until full acceptance, using corporate tools for issue tracking and management throughout the simulator lifecycle. Qualifications: Programming: Fortran or C++ Use development environments: Visual Studio, Azure DevOps Experience thermal-hydraulic codes: RELAP, TRACE, TRAC Work with relational databases: SQL/PostgreSQL Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and thermal-hydraulics #LI-Hybrid Why Westinghouse?
